Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly been tempted by a move to Paris Saint-Germain in a blow to Manchester United’s chances of securing a sensational return for the forward.

Ronaldo is considering leaving Juventus this summer after a challenging campaign for the Italian side.

Their nine-year domination of Serie A was comfortably ended by Inter Milan, who won the division by 12 points. Juventus finished fourth despite Ronaldo’s best efforts.

The Portugal star was the top scorer in the Italian top-flight with 29 goals. He also played three matches fewer than Romelu Lukaku, who came second on the list with 24 strikes.

Juventus sacked boss Andrea Pirlo following the disappointing campaign, but they could also lose Ronaldo.

The 36-year-old joined from Real Madrid for £85million in 2018 and has won two Serie A titles.

Ronaldo has a remarkable record in his three years at Juve, scoring 101 goals in 133 appearances.

Alongside his two league titles, he also won two Supercoppas and a Coppa Italia.

It is believed that Man Utd have made plans to bring Ronaldo back to the club this summer. Boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants a forward to complete his attack.

Having joined the Red Devils from Sporting Lisbon in 2003, Ronaldo scored 118 goals in 292 appearances for the Old Trafford outfit.

He won three Premier League titles, two League Cups, an FA Cup and a Champions League under Sir Alex Ferguson.

United received £80m from Real for Ronaldo in 2009.

But their hopes of bringing him back to the club 12 years later have taken a hit, with Ronaldo ‘tempted’ by a move to PSG instead according to Italian outlet La Stampa.

Juventus are allegedly willing to listen to offers that include Mauro Icardi in a swap deal.

Icardi made just 20 Ligue 1 appearances for PSG last season as they were surprisingly pipped to the title by Lille.

He found himself behind the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Neymar and Angel di Maria in the pecking order for the forward roles.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side failed to win the French top-flight for just the second time in nine years.

The Argentine coach has been linked with a move back to Tottenham having reportedly failed to settle in the French capital.

Pochettino was appointed as PSG boss in January but failed to catch up with Lille at the top of the table.

However, he did win the Coupe de France last month.

It is believed that Spurs are instead close to appointing former Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte as head coach following the departure of Jose Mourinho in April.
