Cristiano Ronaldo given Premier League route out of Man Utd if he wants exit
Bruno Lage says Cristiano Ronaldo has a home at Wolves if Manchester United ever get fed-up with him.
Wolves’ Portuguese boss takes his side to Old Trafford on Monday and jokes he could quickly help out a homeless Ronaldo.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner is at the centre of debate in some quarters on what he brings to United.
But Lage says the former Real Madrid superstar is a goalscoring phenomena who would be on any club’s wish list.
Ronaldo hits 37 next month but his talents are ageless according to the Molineux boss.
Lage said: “He’s a machine. He just wants to score and score and score. He lives for that.
“He’s a massive player and every team in the world would want him. It’s football and everyone has an opinion.
“But if United aren’t happy with him then I have a place for him here, but I know they are happy with him.”
Lage added: “He started playing at the top level very young and he’s just continued at the same level.”
The Wolves boss admits his main concern is just what kind of a team he can put out and admits the next 48 hours will be crucial.
Their scheduled game at Arsenal on Tuesday had to be called off because of a Covid outbreak which ruled out six players and forced the closure of the training ground.
Lage said: “We have two more days to try and establish which players are fit and ready to play.
“There are things you just can’t control. We don’t have too may cases but we have a small squad.
“If you have four or five players missing we don’t have enough players to play.
“The next few days are important to see if players have had time to recover and if they are fit to play.”
