Cristiano Ronaldo breaks another incredible record with latest goal for Portugal
Cristiano Ronaldo has broken another record for Portugal when he scored against Qatar on Saturday evening.
Ronaldo opened the scoring for Fernando Santos' side at the Estádio Algarve before Jose Fonte and Andre Silva added to the tally.
Portugal were playing Qatar with the Asian side effectively joining Group A of the UEFA qualifying route.
And the hosts of the 2022 World Cup become the 46th different national side that Ronaldo has scored against, more than any other player.
The 36-year-old found himself in the right place at the right time to turn the ball home to give Portugal the lead on Saturday evening.
Ronaldo's first international goal came at UEFA Euro 2004, at the Estádio do Dragão, as his Portugal side lost to Greece in the opening match of the tournament.
The two sides met again in the final; Greece overcame 150-1 odds to claim one of the most unlikely championship wins in football history.
Sweden and Lithuania have found themselves at the mercy of the megastar more than any other side.
Ronaldo has found the net on seven separate occasions against both sides.
