Antonio Conte has reportedly informed the Tottenham board of seven players he wants to axe this summer.

The Italian has overseen a remarkable turnaround for the Lilywhites since taking over in November and clinched the club's return to the Champions League on the final day on the Premier League season. The 52-year-old now appears intent on taking Tottenham to the next level by reshaping his squad this summer.

Spurs are understood to be closing in on the free transfer of Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic having already agreed a deal for Southampton stopper Fraser Forster as the new faces have begun arriving in North London. Conte also appears to have made his feelings known regarding outgoings, reportedly earmarking a staggering seven players that he wishes to offload this summer.

On Monday, the same day that Perisic committed his future to Spurs' cause, Conte held a meeting over the club's summer recruitment with technical director Fabio Paratici, where he identified the players deemed surplus to requirements. According to the Daily Mail, there were plenty of names who fell into the culling category.

The report states that Tanguy Ndombele, Davinson Sanchez, Harry Winks, Giovani Lo Celso, Steven Bergwijn, Sergio Reguilon and Joe Rodon all face uncertain futures and could well be moved on this summer. The Spurs septet are set to be part of a significant squad overhaul this summer as Conte enters his first transfer window at the helm.

Heading into the window, it was widely understood Tottenham had planned to strengthen in several areas. These included acquiring a new goalkeeper, centre back, wing back, central midfielder and striker.

While Spurs should have no shortage of transfer funds in the budget following the recent £150million cash injection from owner Joe Lewis, it seems Conte is keen to supplement his spending money with fees received from several sales. The Italian appears intent on establishing greater squad depth at the club, having admitted earlier this month that his summer transfer list was "very, very big," amid vast injury concerns.

Conte told reporters: “No, no, we are totally focused on this season. Always because I repeat we are finishing this season with only 15 players. So it’s not convenient right now to give them a list because it would be a big one.”

Despite only recruiting two players back in January, Tottenham enjoyed a successful window. Both Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski arrived from Juventus and played key roles in helping Spurs secure a spot in next season's Champions League.
