Christian Pulisic makes feelings clear on Chelsea future after Pochettino hired
Chelsea confirm Mauricio Pochettino as new boss
Christian Pulisic could be looking at a future away from Chelsea after confirming that he will assess his future this summer. The Blues endured their worst league campaign since 1994, finishing the Premier League season in 12th place.
American winger Pulisic scored just one goal in 812 minutes of Premier League football and has admitted that the effects of such a disappointing season have taken its toll on him.
The 24-year-old has joined up with the USA national team ahead of this summer’s Gold Cup, but by the time it has concluded he could be on his way out of Stamford Bridge for good.
According to the Evening Standard, Juventus are named as one club interested in acquiring Pulisic from Chelsea, who will have Mauricio Pochettino in the dugout from next season.
Pulisic said: “It’s been a tough season for me personally and for our team at club level. I thought it was a great couple years and the last couple years just haven’t gone at all how I’ve planned them to be.
“And right now my focus is obviously here with the national team. I’m just excited to get back playing and just enjoy myself and do what I love to do out on the field. And from there, this summer, we’re obviously going to have to see what happens.”
“It’s obviously very early. As of right now I’m a Chelsea player and I plan to go back. But a lot of things can happen. A lot of things can change.”
Pulisic joined Chelsea from Borussia Dortmund in January 2019 for a reported £58m, becoming America’s most expensive player. The deal saw him stay at Dortmund until the end of the 2018-19 season before joining up with his new Stamford Bridge teammates that summer.
He would score nine Premier League goals in 25 matches during his first campaign but was unable to build on that foundation, scoring four league goals in 20-21 and six in 21-22.

Pulisic has scored 23 goals for the USA in 58 appearances and remains an integral part of the national team set-up despite his indifferent form for Chelsea.
He scored his first goals for the West London club on October 26, 2019 with a ‘perfect’ hat-trick in a 4-2 win against Burnley. The triple strike was the first of his senior career and he also became Chelsea’s youngest-ever hat-trick scorer at the age of 21 years and 38 days.
His last appearance for Chelsea was as a substitute against Newcastle United on the final day of the season. It was the third time in a row that he had been used off the bench but has only registered under 40 minutes of game time across seven appearances in May.
