England have one of their best opportunities ever to reach a European Championships final on Wednesday when they take on Denmark at Wembley.

The Danes are in inspired form though and will be tricky customers to overcome.

Here, Sportsmail’s columnist CHRIS SUTTON highlights three key battles that could define the outcome of the game.

England will battle it out with Denmark on Wednesday night for a place in the Euro 2020 final

Denmark will be full of confidence like England and small margins could decide the game

Maehle played no part in qualifying but he’s been a revelation for Denmark at Euro 2020, scoring two goals and assisting one from that left wing-back position.

You’ll see him whizzing down that flank tonight. Walker will want to be his shadow, but he’ll also try to fly forward himself.

This should be a tasty battle between two great athletes.

JORDAN PICKFORD v KASPER DOLBERG

Known as the ‘Iceman’ – he’s that cool – Dolberg looks to have won the internal battle to be Denmark’s No 9.

He’s an all-rounder who is now fit and firing after illness and injury issues at Ligue 1’s Nice last season.

Harry Maguire and John Stones will watch him carefully but Pickford will need to be alert in order to secure a sixth straight Euro 2020 clean sheet.

HARRY KANE v SIMON KJAER

Kjaer is in for a hectic evening against Kane, who is in the mood for goals. He won’t shy away, mind.

He’s faced a few star forwards already, including Romelu Lukaku who scored in Belgium’s other two group games but not against Denmark.

Kane wants to score, Kjaer wants to stop him. Let the battle commence.

Harry Kane will give Simon Kjaer a tough evening but will he score again or be stopped?
