Police have arrested an unnamed Chesterfield footballer in connection with an alleged assault on Oldham player Hallam Hope.
The alleged incident occurred in a car park outside Oldham’s Boundary Park ground on September 4, following Chesterfield's 2-0 National League victory over the Latics.
Hope was treated in hospital following the alleged attack and hasn't played a match since. At the time the Barbados international said he would be "out of action for some weeks."

Oldham are understood to have provided police with CCTV footage in relation to the alleged attack.
Chesterfield are currently top of the National League with seven wins and three draws from their opening 10 fixtures, while Oldham are down in 15th with just three victories so far this campaign.
