Chelsea’s plan for Transfer Deadline Day as Thomas Tuchel makes wish-list
Chelsea’s biggest move in the January transfer window has been replacing Frank Lampard with Thomas Tuchel.
Though the Blues could be busy on Deadline Day as Premier League clubs look to adjust their team for the second half of the season.
It’s been a quiet window amid the coronavirus pandemic but teams love a last minute deal, and there are certainly some bargains out there.
Tuchel has surprised many with his team selections in his first two matches and may have a clear idea of where he wants Chelsea to be heading.
And Daily Star Sport have looked at what the new manager’s three-point plan for Deadline Day could entail…
Decide Billy Gilmour’s future
Midfielder Billy Gilmour impressed last season but hasn’t featured in either match-day squad since Tuchel arrived.
The 19-year-old has hopes of being included in the Scotland squad for this summer’s Euros, and could reportedly leave Chelsea on loan today.
West Ham have been linked with a move while Bournemouth have also previously shown interest.
Reports suggest the youngster is in talks with Southampton so Gilmour could be a busy man on Deadline Day.

Focus on the keepers
The goalkeeping situation seems to be an ongoing issue at Stamford Bridge following Kepa Arrizabalaga’s recent struggles.
He was replaced by Edouard Mendy during the summer, though Chelsea could look to get Kepa out of the club on Monday.
And if they do, the Blues may turn their attention to AC Milan wonderkid Gianluigi Donnarumma.
The 21-year-old has been first-choice at the San Siro since he was 16, though is out of contract at the end of the season.
Talks over an extension have apparently “frozen” and Chelsea could swoop in with a pre-contract agreement.

Get Emerson off the books
Left-back Emerson is one that certainly seems surplus to requirements, especially with Marcos Alonso playing on Sunday.
Emerson has made just two substitute appearances in the Premier League all season and wasn’t even in the squad to take on Burnley.
Juventus, Napoli and Roma have all been previously linked with Emerson, and Chelsea may see getting him out as a priority today.
