Chelsea appear to have the signings of Christopher Nkunku after Josko Gvardiol already lined up, according to reports in Germany. Todd Boehly spent big for Thomas Tuchel back in the summer transfer window. And, now, it looks like Graham Potter is primed to get the same treatment in the New Year.
Chelsea spent big back in the summer as they look to win a first Premier League title since 2017, back when Antonio Conte ruled the roost.
Raheem Sterling, Kalidou Koulibaly, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Marc Cucurella were just a few of the players to arrive at Stamford Bridge, with Boehly more than happy to spend.
And, now, it appears the American isn’t done yet as he looks to guide Chelsea to the biggest trophies in the land.
According to Sky in Germany, Boehly has been in regular contact with RB Leipzig CEO Oliver Mintzlaff.
Chelsea negotiated with the Bundesliga giants back in the summer when they allowed Timo Werner to return to the Red Bull Arena after two troublesome years in England.

And it’s stated Boehly has remained in contact with Mintzlaff ahead of the January window.
It’s said Chelsea wanted to land both Nkunku and Gavardiol, only to end up missing out on the pair following their decisions to sign new contracts.
But the Blues are now hopeful they’ll be able to land the pair, or agree deals at least, in the New Year.
Leipzig reportedly have an agreement with Nkunku to let the France international depart at the end of the end of the season for a fee of £53million.
And Chelsea have already made progress on his signing, with the deal described as being on the ‘home stretch’.
Nkunku is primed to pen a five-year deal with Potter’s side, which would then be valid from next summer.
And it’s stated that Gvardiol is primed to follow his team-mate to Stamford Bridge, too.
With Boehly pulling the strings, it seems Chelsea are set to build an unofficial partnership with Leipzig.
And whether the pair do end up moving to the capital is something only time will tell.
Meanwhile, one player Boehly has a dilemma with at present is Mason Mount.
The England international’s long-term future at the club is uncertain, with the Chelsea star recently entering the final two years of his contract.
Yet Joe Cole thinks Mount is worth keeping and has urged the Blues owner to keep hold of the 23-year-old.
“Another manager has come into Chelsea and another manager has deemed him vitally important to his team,” said Cole.
“He picks up pockets [of space], can play off the left, off the right, he is finding passes.
“Unless you stand and study Mason Mount, you don’t appreciate what he does.
“Off the ball he is picture perfect tactically, technically. “Everything about him says he should be the focal point of this team.
“He has been the pick of the bunch in the Potter regime.”
Chelsea are next in action against Aston Villa on Sunday (2pm).
