Chelsea are reportedly open to letting five of their players leave the club this summer and would even be interested in including them in part of a swap deal. Thomas Tuchel will be looking to have a clear out at Stamford Bridge so he can bring in some of his own men.

Frank Lampard spent over £200million last summer and the Blues are flooded with talent.

However, for Tuchel to stamp his mark on the team he must free some funds for his own targets.

A defender is thought to be high on the German’s wishlist and David Alaba, who is set to leave Bayern Munich, was under consideration.

Spanish publication AS claim Alaba’s agent’s demands did not coincide with Chelsea so no deal will be done there.

However, Chelsea have other options on the table – one being Sevilla’s highly-rated centre-back Jules Kounde.

The 22-year-old has a £68m release clause which could put off potential suitors.

Chelsea could try and negotiate a lower fee as Sevilla would not want to stand in their players way if he wants to leave.

AS claim add that Tuchel would also be keen to some of his stars in a swap deal for the Frenchman.

Most surprisingly of all, Hakim Ziyech, who joined from Ajax last year, has been mentioned as a possible makeweight.

As has goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, who has failed to make the grade as Stamford Bridge after making the world record move from Athletic Bilbao for £71m in 2018.

The Spaniard has fallen behind Edouard Mendy in the pecking order and may want to return to his homeland.

Another option mentioned is Tammy Abraham, who has found minutes hard to come by following Tuchel’s arrival.

Timo Werner and Olivier Giroud are ahead of the England internationa;, and Chelsea want to but another forward this summer.

Erling Haaland, Sergio Aguero and Romelu Lukaku have all been linked with a move to west London, which could spell the end of Abraham.

Tiemoue Bakayoko, on loan at AC Milan, and Michy Batshuayi, who has spent the season with Crystal Palace, may also be available.
