Chelsea ‘to sign Joao Felix’ ahead Man Utd and Arsenal ‘after meeting demands’
Chelsea are on the brink of signing Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix, according to reports.
The Portuguese star is a man in demand having been linked with moves to Manchester United and Arsenal this January. At times, it appeared the former Benfica ace was United bound, with club chiefs even supposedly saving the No.7 shirt, left behind by Cristiano Ronaldo, for the dynamic attacker.
However, it seems Graham Potter’s side are now set to sign Felix on loan until the end of the season with an option to keep him at the club permanently.

Reports from the Daily Record understand the west Londoners have informed Atleti they are willing to pay the £9.7million loan fee needed to prise him away from the Wanda Metropolitano. Diego Simeone’s side paid a whopping £113m to sign Felix from Benfica in the summer of 2019.
However, Felix’s relationship with Simeone is believed to have soured in recent months. Chelsea could be set to put an end to their time together during this window.
Potter’s injury crisis has extended to his attacking department, as they are now sweating on the condition of Christian Pulisic and Raheem Sterling, who both limped off in the first half during their 1-0 home loss to Manchester City in the Premier League. However, they would be boosted by Felix’s potential arrival, as he can also play as a winger and attacking midfielder.

The 23-year-old is also reportedly so keen on the move, that he has already told his teammates he will soon be a Premier League player. Former Chelsea forward Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink believes signing Felix would be good for the Blues and for the player himself.
“Arsenal don't need Joao Felix, they need a different kind of profile,” Felix said while speaking to Betway. “Man United need an out-and-out striker, they have enough wingers and Chelsea are more in need but it depends which position they see him playing in.
“Chelsea need to do business across the whole front three and they need also do business in midfield so Joao Felix would suit Chelsea most.”
