Chelsea are said to have been in discussions with Sevilla for over two weeks for the signing of Jules Kounde. The Blues are working hard to try and secure the acquisition of the highly-rated Frenchman, who has also caught the eye of Real Madrid, Manchester City and Manchester United in recent times.
Earlier this window, Tottenham submitted a proposal that satisfied the demands of Sevilla but the player did not want to join Spurs.
He outlined his desire to play regular Champions League football, something that is no longer on offer in north London.
Nonetheless, Chelsea can offer that and of course reigned supreme in Europa last season after beating City in Porto to lift the trophy.
Now the Blues are at the table and are on pole position to secure the signing of Kounde.
BREAKING: Chelsea ‘in talks’ to sign Jules Kounde after Tottenham ‘had swap deal offer accepted’
According to Italian journalist Gianluigi Longari, Chelsea have been in talks with Sevilla for over two weeks and saw their first player-plus-cash bid rejected.
It’s claimed Marina Granovskaia tried to send Emerson Palmieri the other way as part of the deal.
The left-back has come close to leaving Chelsea on several occasions for the likes of Inter Milan and Juventus.
However, a deal has failed to materialise as of yet but he would like to pursue a new challenge.
