Chelsea loanee Gallagher has summer transfer plan due to Tuchel

On-loan Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher is set to base his summer transfer plans around Blues manager Thomas Tuchel.

Gallagher has impressed at relegation-threatened West Brom this season, becoming a regular under Sam Allardyce in central midfield.

The 21-year-old has made 26 appearances in the Premier League this term, scoring two goals and notching two assists in the top-flight.

This is Gallagher’s first season playing in the Premier League, having previously spent the first half of last season at Charlton in the Championship, before moving to Swansea for the second half.

Despite West Brom’s struggles in their first campaign back in the top-flight, Gallagher has showcased his potential.

That has led to several teams developing an interest in the midfielder, with Gallagher appearing to be likely to move to a team higher up the league next season.

According to The Sun, Marcelo Bielsa is a fan of the 21-year-old, with Leeds keeping a close eye on his situation.

Crystal Palace and Newcastle are also named as interested parties, with the Magpies sizing up signing Gallagher on a permanent deal.

It appears though that their hopes of taking Gallagher away from Stamford Bridge could be misguided.

That is because The Sun also claim that Gallagher wants to stay at his parent club and attempt to force his way into Tuchel’s plans for next season.

His desire to become a first-team player at the Blues appears to mean his potential suitors are set to be denied this summer.

Instead, they will likely have to wait until the January transfer window to attempt to sign him, by which time Gallagher will know more about his status under Tuchel.
