Chelsea have reportedly been looking to move on nine first team players in order to raise funds for big-money signings. But with the new season just a couple of weeks away, the Blues have not been able to sell any of them.

Chelsea have been looking to sell several players in order to fund a potential transfer for Erling Haaland or Romelu Lukaku.

The European champions have been interested in signing a new striker during the summer transfer window as they look to challenge for the Premier League title next season.

But they have had a quiet transfer window so far with their only signing being Marcus Bettinelli on a free from Fulham.

Any big summer signings for Chelsea look to have been hampered by their inability to move on nine players who were up for sale

In April, the Mirror reported that Tammy Abraham, Kepa Arizabalaga, Emerson Palmeri, Antonio Rudiger, Fikayo Tomori, Jorginho, Ross Barkley, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Michy Batshuayi were avaliable.

Tammy Abraham has been linked with a move to Arsenal this summer after falling out of favour with Thomas Tuchel.

The striker often found himself on the bench when the German coach arrived at Stamford Bridge in January with Oliver Giroud favoured ahead of him.

Abraham is valued at £34million but has so far yet to move on.

Goalkeeper Kepa Arizabalaga became the most expensive keeper of all time when he joined Chelsea for £71million in 2018.

But he lost his place in between the sticks after the January signing of Eduoard Mendy who has been preferred ahead of him by Thomas Tuchel.

Another notable player up for sale is Antonio Rudiger who is valued at £28million.

The German defender’s contract ends at the end of next season so the club may consider a sale if the right offer comes in.

Elsewhere, Jorginho has been mentioned as a potential departure because he prefers a return to Italy.

The Italian midfielder was brought to the club under Maurizio Sarri and although his unhappiness may lead to Chelsea cashing in.

Some of the other players who have been surplus to requirements but have yet to be sold include Ross Barkley.

The 27-year old had a mixed season on loan at Villa in the last campaign and is valued at £20million

Chelsea have been unable to move any of them on though and with the new season a matter of weeks away, they are under pressure to do so before it begins.

Their first competitive action of the season comes in Europe.

Having won last season’s Champions League, the Blues will take on Europa League winners Villareal in the UEFA Super Cup on August 11.

After that, they begin their Premier League campaign at home to Crystal Palace on August 14.
