Chelsea fans left in stitches over Havertz’s new haircut with ‘twin’ Mason Mount

Chelsea fans have been left in stitches after spotting Kai Havertz's new barnet, which looks surprisingly similar to that of team-mate Mason Mount.

The silky German was spotted with the adopted hairstyle on social media after injured defender Ben Chilwell posted a photo of the duo on his Instagram. Both Mount and Havertz appear to be taking a well-earned break from training as the Blues make last-minute preparations for Thursday evening's Premier League clash against Leicester City.

But the photo, captioned "twinsss" by Chilwell, has sent supporters into hysterics and the image has even caused confusion over who's who.

One fan jibed: "They used the buy-1-get-1-free coupon?" Whilst a rival fan commented: "Is this the 0 trophies in a season haircut?"

A third supporter wasn't so sure the haircut was the German's idea: "Havertz’s smile definitely tells you that he’s been held at gun point for that haircut." Whereas a different fan was more confident about their link-up play due to the new trim: "Mount & Havertz gonna beat Kane & Son’s record next season confirmed."

However, there were concerns about how they'll be able to differentiate them during Thursday's game, as one fan posted: "Was confused whenever both of them were on the pitch back when Mason was with full hair, Mason cut his and it became a lot easier to differentiate but now, now how do I tell the difference?"

Thomas Tuchel has heaped praise on the duo in recent weeks after they've stepped up in the absence of Hakim Zyiech. Havertz has also been preferred to Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner in playing the lone striker role and the pair's commitment to the team has not gone unnoticed by the Blues boss.

He told reporters: "Yes, it is incredible [their experience at such a young age]. There is no substitute for it. It is the best because you can grow so much with these experiences.

"There are many ways to grow, but this is really accelerating the process of their development and it is good to see that they’re ready to take responsibility and step up. It is so good to have them. At their ages, they are far from reaching their top level, and there is so much more to come. We are proud to have them."
