Chelsea could seek revenge on Barcelona over four transfers after Raphinha blow

Chelsea could scupper as many as four transfers for Barcelona this summer as revenge for their battle over Raphinha.

The Catalan giants appear to be in pole position to sign the Leeds winger, with 90min.com claiming they've met the £60million asking price. That comes as a massive blow to the Blues, who had reportedly agreed a £55m deal earlier this week.

But Raphinha isn't the only player Chelsea and Barcelona are butting heads over this summer – so Stamford Bridge chiefs may be able to get the last laugh in the transfer window, with funds of course limited at the Camp Nou.

Both sides are interested in signing Sevilla centre-back Jules Kounde, who has been a long-time target in west London. The Frenchman is keen to make a move before next season.

Wantaway Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski has also come on to Chelsea and Barca's respective radars. He has his heart set on linking up with Xavi, just like Raphinha – but his pay packet could be much greater elsewhere.

And Chelsea already have two players that Barca want in defenders Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso. They are each into the final 12 months of their contracts and are drawn to La Liga.

But their current club could play hardball if they do indeed lose the battle for Raphinha. The Brazilian is a man in demand having impressed in the Premier League over the past two seasons.

Arsenal and Tottenham locked horns over his signature last month before Chelsea looked like they'd got the jump on their rivals. But now Barca have trumped them all.

They've already got personal terms agreed with the 25-year-old, so the deal is now nearing completion according to the report.
