Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is hunting a new striker this summer and it is growing increasingly unlikely that he will be able to tempt Borussia Dortmund to sell Erling Haaland. Various names have been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge and Express Sport rounds up the top five candidates.

Robert Lewandowski

German publication Bild claim that Chelsea have reached out to Robert Lewandowski’s agent Pini Zahavi.

The reports come days after the Sun claim that the Blues are preparing a £50million off for the Bayern Munich striker.

Lewandowski has two years left on his contract and netted 41 goals last term so the Bundesliga club are under no pressure to sell.

However, the Polish hitman is 32 years old and this may be the final time Bayern are able to command a substantial fee for their top goalscorer.

Harry Kane

Chelsea are among a number of teams apparently interested in Harry Kane this summer.

Manchester City appear to be leading the race but it has not stopped the Blues being brought into the conversation.

Kane is known to be happy in London and has lofty ambitions of winning the biggest tournaments.

The biggest stumbling block in a move for Kane would be Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, who is one of the notoriously difficult negotiators who is never keen to strengthen a Premier League rival.

Sasa Kalajdzic

Towering Stuttgart forward Sasa Kalajdzic has made his way onto Tuchel’s transfer shortlist, according to the Athletic.

At 6ft 7in, the Austrian would add a new dimension to the west Londoners.

Kalajdzic scored 16 goals in 33 appearances for Stuttgart last season.

The German side value their forward upwards of £30million, which would be no issue for big-spending Chelsea.

Danny Ings

Danny Ings has turned down a four-year contract extension with Southampton to try and force a move to a top six club.

The prolific frontman is keen to prove himself once again following a failed stint at Liverpool from 2015-19, in which he may only 14 league starts.

Manchester United are amongst the teams said to be monitoring the 28-year-old.

And Chelsea have also been included in the conversation as he is a proven goalscorer in the Premier League.

Domenico Berardi

Reports in Italy suggest that Thomas Tuchel is a fan of Sassuolo and Italy forward Domenico Berardi.

The striker registered two assists in the group stages of Euro 2020 as Italy went on to win the tournament.

West Ham are also said to have enquired about the 26-year-old, who is valued around £34.5m.
