Chelsea are riding high under Thomas Tuchel after their win over Real Madrid on Wednesday sent the club into the Champions League final. The Blues completely outplayed Zinedine Zidane’s side at Stamford Bridge, securing a 2-0 win to send them through to face Manchester City in the final 3-1 on aggregate.

Timo Werner gave them the lead when he nodded home from a few yards after Kai Havertz struck the crossbar with a chipped attempt.

Edouard Mendy made two important saves from Karim Benzema before half-time and, after Chelsea spurned three clear-cut chances, Mason Mount turned home Christian Pulisic’s cross late on to secure their passage to the final.

The semi-final second leg was full of strong performances for the Blues, but was particularly fruitful for the club’s summer signings, with Werner, Havertz, Mendy and Ben Chilwell key to their win.

Chelsea now have two finals to look forward to, with the FA Cup final against Leicester on May 15 before the Champions League final against Man City two weeks later in Istanbul.

Although the club are focused on those crunch games and the top-four race in the Premier League, behind the scenes attention has already turned to the summer transfer window.

Having spent around £250million last summer, Chelsea don’t need many new arrivals in west London at the end of the season.

However, like many of Europe’s top clubs, they are interested in signing Borussia Dortmund’s star striker Erling Haaland.

Haaland is likely to command a fee in excess of £120m, meaning the Blues will need to sell some of their current assets to afford the 20-year-old Norwegian sensation.

According to Goal, Chelsea have earmarked Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri as expendable in their attempt to raise around £100m, with £50m summer signing Chilwell now firmly established as first-choice at left-back.

Alonso has featured sporadically since Tuchel replaced Frank Lampard in January, but has seen his minutes dwindle in recent weeks.

Emerson has played just 15 times this season, only seven of which have been starts, after seeing a loan move to Juventus collapse on deadline day and has attracted interest from Inter Milan.

The Italian international’s Chelsea contract expires next summer but the club do have an option to extend it for another year, while Alonso is under contract until 2023.

Emerson is likely to be heavily involved in Italy’s campaign at the European Championships, so any transfer won’t be done until later in the summer.

Tammy Abraham is another player who Chelsea would let leave this summer, with the club having put a £40m price tag on the 23-year-old striker, who has attracted interest from West Ham and Leicester.

Fikayo Tomori is another who could be sold to fund a move for Haaland, with AC Milan keen to take up the £26m option in the Blues defender’s loan deal.

Olivier Giroud is also likely to leave Chelsea, but with his contract expiring he will be available for a free transfer.
