Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel and striker Timo Werner both believe Erling Haaland can have a positive impact on Werner’s form at Stamford Bridge, according to reports. Chelsea are strongly linked with a move to sign Borussia Dortmund star Haaland as Tuchel aims to strengthen his front line this summer.
Werner was often used as the main striker at Chelsea during his first season at the club.
Tammy Abraham fell out of favour following Tuchel’s arrival and Werner was thrust into a more central position.
Haaland would immediately become Chelsea’s first-choice No 9 if he were to complete a move to west London.
The Norway star scored 41 goals in as many games for Dortmund in his first full season at the club.

But German football expert Raphael Honigstein claims Tuchel and Werner agree that Haaland can be beneficial to the latter’s performances.
Werner scored just 12 goals in his 52 games for Chelsea last term.
“[Tuchel] likes Erling Haaland, it’s a name that has been mentioned at Chelsea,” Honigstein told Sky Sports News.
“And there’s also a belief that Timo Werner might actually benefit from having a real No 9 in front of him.

“I think there is a belief, certainly from Tuchel and certainly from Werner himself, that [Haaland’s arrival] wouldn’t necessarily mean that would impact negatively on [Werner], let alone on Kai Havertz of course who would relish playing with somebody like Timo Werner.
“So it might just be the missing piece of the puzzle but it’s a very expensive piece of the puzzle, maybe even too expensive for Roman Abramovich.”
Dortmund are said to want at least £150million for Haaland this summer.
However, the 21-year-old could be available for as little as £64m when his release clause becomes active at the end of next season.
Honigstein believes a 2022 deal is much more likely for Haaland.
“I think there’s a possibility [for this summer] but it’s still unlikely at this point,” he said.
“Simply because the price tag is so big that Dortmund would be contemplating, plus there is a huge wage bill implication for whoever gets Haaland.
“They’ll have to really smash their existing wage bill and I think there’s a lot of clubs being very wary.
“Whatever happens this summer would have to really force Dortmund’s hand in a way that they could not say no.
“I think it might be beyond even the wealthiest clubs in Europe this year.”
