Chelsea attackers ‘don’t know what to do with the ball’ under Lampard
Reports suggest Chelsea’s players feel there is no tactical structure in attack and some players ‘don’t really know what to do with the ball’ despite large spells of possession. The concerning details will raise further questions about Frank Lampard, who has failed to drive the Blues out of their recent slump that has just about summarised their dismal season.
Chelsea have now lost five straight matches in all competitions and there is growing unrest amongst supporters about the lack of inspiration from the sidelines.
The Blues remain in talks with Mauricio Pochettino about the prospect of him taking over in the summer but Chelsea still have six Premier League fixtures to navigate.
The Argentine will have his work cut out trying to turn Chelsea’s fortunes around but there is hope his clear footballing vision would help him oversee immediate improvements.
That’s because The Independent are reporting that there is word from within the squad that there is currently no tactical structure in attack.

The team are almost out of ideas with the ball and some of the club’s players do not know what Lampard wants from his forward players.
Chelsea have scored just 30 goals in 32 Premier League games this season, averaging less than one per match.
Add to that, Kai Havertz is their top goalscorer in the Premier League despite failing to hit double figures (nine).
Lampard has hinted he is prepared to call upon Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to solve Chelsea’s struggles in attack.

Chelsea to ‘make Leao swap deal offer’ in worrying news for Mudryk[REPORTS]
The Gabon frontman was left out of the club’s Champions League squad in January by Graham Potter just a matter of months after joining the club on transfer deadline day.
Now he could be brought back in from the cold in a bid to ensure Chelsea’s season somehow finishes on a high.
Chelsea’s caretaker boss said: “Auba has been a tough one for me because I have complete respect for him and his career: he has scored what, over 300 goals in his club career?
“He couldn’t play the two Real Madrid games for me because he was not in the squad.
“He came on for me against Wolves and for a number nine to be sharp and playing regularly is key. To see him training when we haven’t had many minutes before to train, he came into my thinking today anyway.
“You can see he is the profile of a number nine and we don’t have that in the squad so I did see a difference in that today.”
Big-money January signing Mykhaylo Mudryk has failed to find the net in 12 appearances since joining from Shakhtar Donetsk for £88.5m.
Mudryk has been consistently in and out of the side meaning he has struggled to build any form of momentum as Lampard continues to rotate his side in search of answers.
