Chelsea have made an approach for PSV Eindhoven midfielder Ibrahim Sangare.
The west London club initially backed off in their pursuit of the midfield anchor three weeks ago, after the 24-year-old signed a fresh five-year deal with the Eredivisie giants.
But the Blues have since revived their interest in the hope of luring Sangare to Stamford Bridge ahead of the summer deadline, eager to bolster Thomas Tuchel’s injury-stricken engine room.

Thwarted by injuries to Mateo Kovacic and N’Golo Kante, the German coach endured a headache in midfield during the shock losses to Southampton and Leeds.
Kovacic made his return off the bench during Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat to Saints on Tuesday and replaced midfield starter Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who has mostly been deployed on the right flank so far this season.
With Kante still sidelined, the Blues have approached PSV to negotiate a deal for Sangare, keen to find a conventional defensive midfielder to protect the back five.

The Ivorian international has enjoyed a fruitful start to the campaign in Eindhoven, scoring three goals in eight appearances in all competitions.
Sangare played 49 matches in total last season and helped PSV to a runners-up spot in the Eredivisie, narrowly missing out on the title by two points to champions Ajax.
Were a deal to be agreed ahead of the deadline, the midfielder would mark Chelsea’s seventh addition of the summer window after Raheem Sterling, Marc Cucurella, Wesley Fofana, Gabriel Slonina, Carney Chukwuemeka and Kalidou Koulibaly.
