Borussia Monchengladbach forward Marcus Thuram is being ‘chased by both Arsenal and Chelsea’.

The 25-year-old will  be out of contract in Germany this summer and could be a useful option for both sides amid uncertainty over their current attacking players.

Thuram is currently enjoying the best goal-scoring spell of his career and has equalled his personal best of 10 league goals in a season after just 18 games.

According to reports in Sport, Mikel Arteta’s side have joined a long list of clubs aiming to secure the French international’s s signature that also includes Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

Mikel Arteta’s ‘Arsenal are one of several sides interested in signing the 25-year-old’

If the Gunners do sign Thuram, it will throw doubt over Foalrin Balogun’s future

The 21-year-old is currently the top scorer in Ligue 1 while on loan at Reims from the Gunners, who are currently undecided on the striker’s future amid interest from AC Milan.

Chelsea may also be in the running to sign Thuram, as the Metro reports that they came close to bringing him in during the January transfer window and see him as a potential replacement for Joao Felix.

Felix joined the Blues on loan last month but has so far only played one game after being sent off on his debut for a challenge on  Fulham’s Kenny Tete.

While there is no option to buy in the 23-year-old’s current deal, he did recently hint  that he would be open to a longer spell under Graham Potter, as he told AS:’ One of the first days [Potter] called me into his locker room. We were talking about his game idea, the game idea he had thought for me.

‘He explained to me how the team plays, what they do. I really like that he interacted with me. He shows that he is a very good person and a great coach.

‘He likes to have the ball, control the game and attack. Of course, they can also defend when they have to defend, but they like to control the game and attack. I like that.’

Felix could return to first-team action on Saturday as Chelsea look to get their stalling season back on track with a trip to West Ham.
