Casemiro says Man Utd staff and fans are spelling his name wrong on shirts
Manchester United midfielder Casemiro revealed everyone has been spelling his name completely wrong.
Everything has been going right for the imperious Brazilian who has seamlessly slotted into Erik ten Hag’s side ever since his move from Real Madrid. Victory for United against Crystal Palace will see them move within five points of first placed Arsenal and, arguably, back into the title race.
Casemiro’s control of the midfield is a huge reason United have improved exponentially this season. However, not everything has been spot on for the five time Champions League winner.

Everybody, including all of his clubs, and, quite possibly, every media outlet and fan has been spelling his name wrong. “So the thing is, my name is Carlos Henrique Casimiro, with an ‘I there’,” Casemiro said to the BBC.
However, this inaccuracy has now been retained by design as the Brazilian also revealed. “I remember that I played a game for Sao Paulo and the club got my name wrong,” he added.
“They wrote it with an ‘E’. I played really well in that game and as I’m a superstitious person, I said to them ‘just leave it like that as things are going well’.

“So the name stuck, but my name is Carlos Henrique Casimiro. It was a mistake made in one game. I said 'no need to change it, leave it as it is'."
While everybody should strive for accuracy, this is a spelling error we will continue to make, as Casemiro demands. Should United and everybody else replace the E with the I, the footballing gods of suspicion may completely halt United’s promising season.
Considering the fact he has won five Champions Leagues, three La Liga titles, three Club World Cups, and the Copa America with his mis-spelt name, the 30-year-old may not insist on his correct moniker being used.
