Carragher stopped a Villa employee in the tunnel to check that he was allowed to continue his walkabout in the tunnel.
However, the worker appeared not to recognise the former defender and asked him who he was.
Carragher explained that he was working with Sky Sports and that he was ‘Steven Gerrard’s mate’. He added: ‘He [Gerrard] said it was alright, is that not OK, or?’
She then politely explained that he needed to be accredited to access the area, before Carragher persisted, asking: ‘He is the manager isn’t he?’
‘He is but you shouldn’t be in here unless you’ve got proper accreditation,’ she responded.

He then jokingly asked if he gave the manager a call and Gerrard said it was okay would he be allowed to stay, to which the employee responded: ‘If he says it’s okay that will be fine.’
Carragher took the episode well, insisting that it was ‘no problem’ and headed back towards the pitch to wrap up his video.
