Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti’s recent comments on Eden Hazard could pave the way for a sensational Chelsea return. Hazard has endured another season of inconsistent game time amid reports claiming his former club are interested in re-signing him.
According to El Nacional, Chelsea would not close the door to Hazard returning and maintain a good relationship with Florentino Perez.
The 30-year-old winger has made just four league starts this term and was an unused substitute in Real’s 2-1 win at Barcelona on Sunday.
And on Tuesday, Ancelotti admitted that Hazard is fit, but he currently prefers other forwards.
He told reporters: “He [Hazard] can play 4-3-3 on the left or 4-4-2 above or behind the striker.

“He is ready to play, but the problem is that there is a coach who prefers another player.
“He does not have a star status at Madrid because he has had many injuries, and little by little, he will have his best version.
“I am sure that this season we will see his best version and that he will play more than he is doing now.
“Hazard has it. Everything: quality, motivation. He has to endure, what happens is that sometimes the coach prefers other players.”

Chelsea have recently signed an array of attacking talent, with Romelu Lukaku, Kai Havertz, Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech arriving at Stamford Bridge within the last two years.
Lukaku has been Tuchel’s only signing since replacing Frank Lampard earlier this year, though, so the German boss may want his own attack.
And if the European champions come calling, Hazard could be tempted with a Premier League return down the line.
However, in September, he shut down suggestions that he was currently unsettled at Real.

“I haven’t played or scored much but that doesn’t affect the affection I have for the club,” Hazard explained.
“I’m happy in Madrid, I like my life there. The situation got complicated because of COVID, the injuries and all, but a player is happy when he is playing minutes, it’s easier to be happy when you’re scoring.”
“You can say what you want, but I am happy there. I know I can do good things there, and that’s it.
“When I score goals, when I smile again everyone will say I’m happy, but I’m already happy. It’s just that I can’t play and I can’t score, and that’s what I’m missing.”
