Carlo Ancelotti says "who is he" in response to Antonio Rudiger question

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti refused to acknowledge a possible move for Chelsea star Antonio Rudiger.

The Italian boss, 62, was asked about the defender after Manchester City’s stunning Champions League semi-final first leg 4-3 win over his La Liga giants on Tuesday night.

He answered: "Antonio Rudiger, who is this? He is a Chelsea player until… he is still a Chelsea player, and I cannot say anything about this."

Rudiger, 29, is out of contract in the summer, and given the current UK Government sanctions imposed on his current club, it means he is unable to sign any fresh deal. As such, he has been linked to a move with Los Blancos as well as Bayern Munich in his home nation and Manchester United.

Meanwhile, the former AS Roma player has informed Thomas Tuchel he will leave the Blues at the end of the season.

After the side’s 1-0 win over West Ham on Sunday, the Blues manager confirmed that Rudiger will be leaving upon the concussion of the campaign. "The situation is that he wants to leave the club. He informed me of this in a private talk,” he said to Sky Sports.

"We gave everything – me and the club – but we could not fight anymore because of the actions. Without the sanctions we would at least be able to carry on fighting, but our hands are tied. We don't take it personally. It is his decision.

Chelsea legend John Terry, now a coaching consultant at the club, said he does not understand why the club failed to sort the contract situation with Rudiger earlier. He tweeted : "How have we let this man go.”

It is thought Rudiger will sign a four-year deal of around £300,000 a week in Madrid.
