Burnley keeper celebrates promotion – and leaves waitress an £8k tip

A Promotion party! Burnley goalkeeper Arijanet Muric celebrates the club’s Premier League return in style – leaving waitress a staggering £8,800 TIP after a raucous night out in Munich

  • Kosovo international racked up an indulgent £31k bar tab at the Munich hotspot
  • The business administration student, 25, praised her ‘very pleasant guest’
  • Burnley achieved promotion on April 7 with victory over Middlesbrough

Promotion-winning Burnley goalkeeper Arijanet Muric handed a Munich waitress a staggering £8,800 (€10,000) tip after a rollicking night out in the German city, according to reports.

Spending the evening on a wave of generosity, Muric treated his friends, his fellow patrons and his server as he partied the night away – with the server in turn sharing her bumper bonus with her colleagues.

Chantal, 25, shared her story of the Kosovo international’s night out with friends with German outlet Bild, with the business administration student heaping praise upon her ‘very pleasant’ guest in her account of the evening.

Muric visited Munich’s Filmcasino nightclub, located in the German city’s Old Town, in early April with a group of friends, and found themselves in a celebratory mood, to the tune of a stratospheric £31,752 bar bill (€36,000).

The almighty tab included nearly 40 bottles of Dom Perignon champagne and 10 more of Jay-Z-owned Armand de Brignac champagne, as well as four bottles or Moet & Chandon Nectar, a demi-sec champagne, and bottles of Chivas Regal, which cooled in bathtubs next to the group’s tables.

The shot-stopper is also said to have bought a round for everyone in the club – which is favoured by Bayern Munich stars and their entourages looking to go incognito – before paying a bar bill that included the mammoth tip for Chantal.

‘I invited the whole house [and] shared my winnings with my colleagues,’ Chantal revealed.

‘To the bouncers, DJs, service staff, even the toilet attendant, I gave something.’

With her own share, Chantal added that she had splashed out on her dream pet: a Pomeranian-Bulldog puppy, which she has named Rolex.

‘He just turned five months old,’ she added.

The waitress noted that although she had received tips in the four figures, the bonus given to her by Muric was by far her largest, and beyond his generosity, Chantal described him as ‘a very pleasant guest, very accommodating.

‘He created a good atmosphere.’

Bild requested a comment from the player, but none was forthcoming before publication.

Whilst the exact timeline of the player’s visit isn’t revealed, there is a chance that Burnley’s promotion might have put Muric in the party mood.

Vincent Kompany’s side sealed automatic promotion to the Premier League on April 7 following their 2-1 away win against Middlesbrough on the heels of a blistering single season in the Championship.

The Belgian manager’s team of young starlets, including the former Manchester City goalkeeper, cut a swathe through the competition to see them streaking ahead of their top-of-the-table rivals as well as mounting an impressive FA Cup run.

The club now has the Championship trophy in their sights and beating Reading’s 106-point record to round off their star-studded season.

Burnley paid £2.5million for the keeper during the summer transfer window and he became their third signee to have passed through City’s academy.

The Manchester behemoth inserted three clauses into his deal to ensure their future benefit from the transfer, including a buyback option, the ability to match any forthcoming offers, and a percentage of his next sale should they not wish to bid for him.

After joining the club’s academy in 2015, Muric made just five starts for Pep Guardiola’s side in the 2018/19 season’s Carabao Cup run, before loan spells at NAC Breda, Nottingham Forest, Girona, Willem II, and Adana Demirspor.

Despite also having Swiss and Montenegrin citizenships, Muric chose to represent Kosovo on the international stage, and has been capped 28 times for the 107th FIFA-ranked side.
