  • It is anticipated that Marina Granovskaia will continue as a Blues director
  • Todd Boehly’s takeover of Chelsea is expected to be approved later this month

Bruce Buck is set to remain in his position as Chelsea’s chairman despite the club’s sale.

Todd Boehly, the co-owner of LA Dodgers, is leading a consortium that has agreed to buy Chelsea from Roman Abramovich.

The deal, which is worth £4.25billion, still needs to be approved by both the Premier League and the UK government.

And Buck, who has been Chelsea’s chairman since 2004, will remain in the position, while director Marina Granovskaia is also expected to remain at Chelsea under the new owners.

Sportsmail reported last week that Buck and Granovskaia were set to stay at the club.

Granovskaia has worked on transfers and contracts under Abramovich. She became his representative at the club in 2010 and then joined the board in 2013 before becoming chief executive the following year.

Boehly and Buck are both set to be on the Chelsea board along with journalist Daniel Finkenstein and PR executive Barbara Charone, with the latter two set to take up non-executive positions.

Businessman John Goldstein is not set to be on the board despite being part of the consortium.

It is anticipated that Boehly’s takeover of Chelsea will be ratified before the end of this month.

Buck is the chairman of both Chelsea FC Plc and Chelsea Football Club Limited, while he is also a trustee and chairman of the Chelsea FC Foundation.

Granovskaia is mainly responsible for player transactions. Last year Italian newspaper Tuttosport named her the best club director in European football.
