Bruno Fernandes’ frustration with Daniel James gets better of him in Leeds draw

Bruno Fernandes couldn’t hide his frustration with team-mate Daniel James during Man United’s 0-0 draw with Leeds.

It was a miserable afternoon for the Red Devils, who were unable to find a way past the Whites’ stubborn defence.

The draw extends United’s unbeaten run to 13 matches in the Premier League but leaves them ten points adrift of Man City.

And while the game itself didn’t capture the imagination at Elland Road, Fernandes’ feud with James certainly did.

The Portuguese showed his frustration at James on more than one occasion – and he was backed up by users on social media.

“Bruno Fernándes knows Dan James isn't good enough #LEEMUN”, was the view of one unhappy United fan.

Another added: “Fernandes is really tired of Daniel James”, while a third noted: “Fernandes been on James case #LEEMUN.”

Someone else chimed in with: “If Fernandes is frustrated with James then I’m #TeamFernandes.”

One Twitter user chose to imagine a fake conversation between Fernandes and Marcus Rashford concerning James’ performance.

It read: “Bruno Fernandes' conversation with Marcus Rashford mid game: "He (Dan James) plays trash brother, don't play with him. On my mothers life, he plays against us."

James may have drawn criticism for his performance against Leeds, but the Welshman has been an important member of Ole Gunner Solskjaer’s squad in recent weeks.

The 23-year-old has made 14 appearances since the start of February, scoring three times against Newcastle, Real Sociedad and Southampton.

As the games continue to come thick and fast for United in the Premier League and the Europa League, James will remain a go-to player for Solskjaer.
