Bosses behind a new and expanded European Super League (ESL) believe it could be up and running before the start of the 2024-25 season.
The launch of a 12-team European Super League in 2021 collapsed after Premier League clubs Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur pulled out in the wake of fierce criticism from their own supporters and leading rulers in the game.
But the idea has refused to disappear, with Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus still hopeful of being able to form a controversial breakaway league in the future that would have no permanent membership.

And those behind the ambitious plans hope to hold talks with English football's 'Big Six' sometime in the future, in the hope some of them will be interested in being involved.
Bernd Reichart has been appointed chief executive of 'A22 Sports Management', which was formed to sponsor and help create the original but doomed ESL in April 2021.
He said: "There has been an important reassessment – and the concept is spreading out about openness and taking the permanent membership off the table.

"I can say the three clubs have credibly reassessed and taken some learnings from the first approach. I believe there is no reason not to engage in an open dialogue but we shall see.
"I am aware of what the English clubs stated a year and a half ago, but I hope the whole football community is appreciating the approach to continue to care and try to come up with solutions.
"Initially the dialogue can work without them (English clubs). I will talk to clubs in other countries but this is not an exclusive initiative at all, it is an inclusive initiative.
"Of course the situation of the English clubs and the Premier League is a strong example of how attractive a club-run competition could actually look like and what difference it makes if you have the best playing each other week after week in a way.
"I would love to have their point of view as well, let's see."
The European Court of Justice will hear claims in December from A22 Sports Management that both UEFA and FIFA were wrong to block the initial ESL plan as well as threaten to sanction the clubs involved.
