  • Fans joked that Blake Lively should be worried after her husband and Wrexham co-owner Ryan Reynolds gushed over star striker Paul Mullin.

Hollywood star Reynolds, who owns the National League side alongside fellow actor Rob McElhenney, was treated to a thrilling spectacle as he watched his team beat Notts County 3-2 in a pivotal top-of-the-table clash on Monday.

Ben Foster spectacularly saved a 97th minute penalty to protect the Red Dragons’ lead and secure three points in a huge boost to their promotion ambitions.

A jubilant Reynolds was filmed asking Mullin, who scored Wrexham’s first, for his shirt after the game. The Deadpool actor was seen beaming ear-to-ear before adoringly holding up the no.10 jersey, much to the delight of fans.

He then tucked the shirt into his boxers, leading a Wrexham supporter to joke that his wife – actress Blake Lively – should be ‘worried’ about his love for Mullin.

A third commented: “Genuine football club owners really support the club they have come to love!” while a fourth added: “Im gonna cry again.”

Monday’s victory took Wrexham three points clear as National League leaders with a game in hand over their rivals.

They travel to Barnet on Saturday needing three wins from their final four games to guarantee the top spot, though they will now be full of confidence ahead of a long-awaited return to the Football League.
