Ben Mee sustained a horrible looking injury in Burnley's Premier League game with Crystal Palace that resulted in him being stretchered off.

The Clarets captain collided with Eagles forward Andre Ayew making a tackle with 10 minutes of their match to go.

And it was Mee who came off far worse from the coming together.

Even though the Burnley defender played the ball, he got caught and ended up on the deck with his arms sprayed out.

Players around him were quick to call for help from physios and medics.

Referee Michael Oliver also tried to get attention for Mee quickly.

The Burnley centre-half was treated for several minutes and put in a neck brace but was conscious as he lifted his knee up.

Doctors were careful not to do anything dramatic movement-wise with the player, though.

And he was eventually lifted onto a stretcher and wheeled off for further treatment.

It was a big blow to Burnley in a game they were comfortably winning 3-0 at the time.

Mee is now expected to miss Wednesday's home game with Fulham at Turf Moor and he could also be forced to sit out next Saturday's visit from West Brom.

However, in a boost for Dyche and his team, Sky Sports presenter Kelly Cates confirmed a positive update on Mee's condition after full time.
