BBC told they made a "shambles" of England women coverage with commentary woes
It took Beth Mead just 16 minutes to score England women's first goal of Euro 2022, sending the packed Old Trafford crowd wild.
But the experience wasn't as exciting for the viewers at home, as BBC's coverage of the game has annoyed fans around the country. It was clear from the off that the commentary was a few seconds ahead of the what was unfolding on our screens, meaning that fans were hearing about events before they could see them.
The coverage has been branded as a "shambles" from one user on Twitter, with many others sharing their frustration. The issue was fixed after some time, but it's not the start that the BBC would have been hoping for.

"BBC have made a right shambles of this commentary by the way. Decent crowd though," one user wrote. And another vented as they added: "Sort this commentary out it’s ahead of the picture and it’s ruining the watch."
One upset fan said: "The commentary being like 2-3 seconds ahead of the image needs to be sorted out." Another was a little more light-hearted, as they wrote: "Getting real-time spoilers here due to the @BBCSport commentary being a second or so ahead of the action."
It clearly wasn't the first time that this user has seen the issue, as they said: "Very annoying @BBCSport messing up yet again." And there was more confusion as England took the lead.
This time is wasn't a coverage issue, but a moment on confusion among the officials. Mead dinked Austria goalkeeper and Arsenal team-mate Manuela Zinsberger to put England ahead, although it took a while for the goal to be given.
The ball appeared to be cleared off the line, but the referee's watch signalled that it was a goal due to the goal line technology put in place. But bizarrely VAR intervened to double check that the technology was working.
After a brief pause, the goal was given and normality was restored. But for a moment it seemed as though VAR was going to overrule its fellow technology system.
