Bayern Munich fans want Sadio Mane sold to Chinese Super League after defeat

Bayern Munich fans have called for Sadio Mane to be sold to the Chinese Super League after the struggling German side's latest 1-0 defeat at Augsburg.

The Bundesliga giants have had a nightmarish start to the league campaign by their lofty standards, drawing three and now suffering a loss after just seven matches. Forward Mane endured another torrid afternoon, continuing his poor form since his £27.5million move from Liverpool in the summer.

The African Player of the Year continued to struggle in the central striker role which Robert Lewandowski occupied so convincingly for the better part of a decade. And Bayern fans have ruthlessly called for him to be axed already.

One Twitter user made the savage shout to send him to China, writing: “Mané is so bad at football. Need this guy sold to Guanghzou Tigers in the January transfer window.”

Another tweeted: “Never in my life as a supporter of this club have I seen an attacking player as bad on the ball as Sadio Mane. He can not dribble, he can not link up, he can not stay onside to save his life. An absurdity of a football player.”

A third added: “Big mistake to get him. Seriously consider selling him next summer and get a proper striker. He is not a winger, he is not a striker, he isn’t suited to Bayern.”

While another pointed out: “Mane finally getting exposed? Has always been a system player.”

Despite the harsh criticism directed at the Senegalese star, Bayern’s midfield and attack have struggled to get going under Julian Nagelsmann this season. That is despite a stellar start to the campaign which saw Mane net three goals in three wins back in August.

Nevertheless, his one shot on target and 13-times possession lost to Augsburg summed up both he and Bayern’s difficult time at the moment. Nagelsmann will hope he can get Mane firing again in the next fixture against Bayer Leverkusen as the German manager's own position comes increasingly under question.
