Bayern Munich went top of the Bundesliga as goals by Jamal Musiala and Thomas Muller gave the reigning champions a confident 2-0 victory over Wolfsburg in their first home game of the season on Sunday.
Musiala struck from 20 yards out in the 33rd minute at the Allianz Arena to become Bayern’s record scorer aged under 20 with his 14th goal in the German top flight.
A minute before the break, Muller pounced from close range to ensure Bayern extended their record of never losing in 26 league matches at home to Wolfsburg, winning 24 times.

The forward scored in Bayern’s wins at Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt but was denied this time
Sadio Mane, who joined the club from Liverpool in June, missed a glorious chance from close range that could have given the forward a third goal in three competitive matches for his new club.
The Senegal livewire also found the net with a header from a Muller delivery 16 minutes from time, only to see the effort ruled out for offside.
Bayern’s perfect start to the campaign continued, while Wolfsburg are 15th after two matches.
