Barcelona set to bid for Arsenal defender Bellerin if Emerson joins Tottenham
Tottenham's bid to sign Emerson Royal from Barcelona on Transfer Deadline Day could see Hector Bellerin leave Arsenal for the Catalan giants after falling out of favour under Mikel Arteta.
The Spain international defender has been out of the first-team picture since sitting on the bench against Brentford during the Gunners' Premier League opener.
Bellerin, 26, has made 239 senior appearances for Arsenal since making his debut back in 2013, but a string of poor performances could see his boyhood club accept an incoming offer on Tuesday.
However, Barcelona, who had Bellerin on their books between 2003 and 2011, might only step in with a bid if Spurs can agree a move for Emerson with enough time left in the transfer window.
Mail Online reported on Monday that financial troubles at Barcelona have left them vulnerable to bids for their players, and have agreed a fee of £25.7million for the right-back with Spurs.
While the north London side were said to be keen on a straight swap for Serge Aurier, Barcelona want cash for their returning player following his 2019 move from Atletico Mineiro.
In addition, Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo now say that Bellerin could end up being his replacement, with the club 'attracted' to the possibility of a return deal.
They add that despite the interest, an agreement would have to be a loan with option to buy.

Arteta said when asked about the future of the right-back and Joe Willock earlier this month: "I don't know.
"I'm going to coach them and train them, and respect and look after everybody because they are our players.
"Hopefully they can have their minds here and prepare here because they are Arsenal players and our job is to make them as good as we can."
With Bellerin saying of Arteta's methods the previous June on the High Performance Podcast: "I think, personally, at Arsenal, [emphasis on small details] is something which has changed a lot.
"The ethics and the way [we] work since Mikel has been the manager of the club have completely changed. These behaviours, our behaviours, have been rewarded by him.
"And these behaviours, our behaviours have been awarded by them. There's more emphasis on that behaviour, so the way we run back or the way we create space for a player."
