Avram Grant charges ten times more than World Cup hero Sir Geoff Hurst on Cameo

Former Chelsea, Portsmouth and West Ham manager Avram Grant is charging an astonishing amount for a short video on personal messaging site Cameo – but is doing the right thing in giving all the proceeds to charity.

The former Israel and Ghana boss tops the list of the most expensive football personalities across the website and their rivals Memmo, matching the cost of Cameroonian legend Roger Milla.

The pair are charging £800 pounds to offer up a short greeting for fans – and both offer a speedy 24hr delivery for those in desperate need of their clip, but alternatively with Grant, you can send him a message for just £2.

BettingOdds.com has calculated that there are over 300 figures from the world of football on the platforms.

Grant's fee is a substantial amount more than Sir Geoff Hurst (£87), who remains the only player to score a hat-trick in a World Cup final having fired England to glory in 1966.

Grant, 67, who last held a role with NorthEast United back in 2018, became Chelsea boss in 2007 following the departure of Jose Mourinho.

He led the team to finals in both the Champions League and League Cup as well as taking the title race to the final day before his contract was terminated.

Grant then became director of football at Portsmouth before being made manager, resigning after their relegation to the Championship and an FA Cup final defeat.

His last spell in the Premier League came with West Ham, where he was infamously sacked just moments after their own relegation to the second tier.

According to reports in Israel, Grant has been accused by several women of sexual assault earlier this year.

Grant responded to the claims by saying: “In my life, both in a personal and professional capacity, I have always sought, above and beyond any successes or achievements, to prioritise staying a human being and to respect every woman or man, whoever they may be.

“I am a people person, a man of friendships. And over the years I have maintained relationships with women.

"In all these relationships I have tried very hard to treat them with respect and friendship and I never intended to behave unfairly or in any way harm any woman.

"Anyone who has felt uncomfortable or hurt by me, I regret it and apologise from the bottom of my heart.”

Level in third place on the Cameo list, after former MLS star Andrew Wenger at (£440), at £395 are Darren Bent, Steven Taylor and Hulk with current and former Chelsea stars Thiago Silva and Willian both asking for £316.

Jorginho, another Blues star, is slightly less on £295, with Brazilian icons Adriano and Cafu also on the list at £238 and £237 respectively.

In at eight and 10 are Jens Lehmann (£198) and Michael Owen (£142), with David Seaman, Andre Villas-Boas, Brandi Chastain and Viv Anderson all at nine with £158, Hurst comes in at 19th.
