There are just over five days remaining of the summer transfer window, and Aston Villa have been one of the busiest clubs in the Premier League.

Club captain Jack Grealish was sold for a British record £100million fee, and Dean Smith's side have broken their own transfer record while re-investing the money on Emiliano Buendia, Danny Ings, Leon Bailey, Axel Tuanzebe and Ashley Young.

Villa have a long-term goal of qualifying for Europe, and further business could be done in an attempt to achieve this feat.

The Daily Star Sport looks at what could be happening at Villa before the deadline on August 31.

Villa 'ready to pay €30m'

Aston Villa are reportedly open to meeting Juventus' price-tag for American midfielder Weston McKennie.

Dean Smith is a long-term admirer of the 22-year-old and could attempt to sign the Juventus ace after missing out on James Ward-Prowse.

McKennie joined Juventus from Schalke in 2020, but since the change of management from Andrea Pirlo to Massimiliano Allegri, the midfielder may be allowed to leave the club as he isn't in the new manager's plans.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Tottenham and Villa are interested in the midfielder, with Dean Smith's side willing to pay €30m (£25.5m) to sign him.

Roma open talks with El Ghazi

Roma have reportedly opened talks to sign Villa winger Anwar El Ghazi according to Football Insider.

The Dutch winger has been a huge part of Villa's side since they returned to the Premier League, but may see his game time limited due to the arrivals of Buendia and Bailey this summer.

El Ghazi is valued at around £15m and Jose Mourinho is said to have entered preliminary talks with Villa over a potential move.

It is unknown whether Roma are willing to meet this price-tag after recently splashing out on Tammy Abraham, but Villa could be tempted into a cheaper sale with so many attacking options at the club.

Jebbison the 'new Benteke'

Villa could sign young striker Daniel Jebbison from Sheffield United, who has been likened to former Villa star Christian Benteke.

The 18-year-old made his Premier League debut last season before being relegated with the Sheffield club, scoring his first goal against Everton.

Everton are also interested in the striker, and have reportedly already tabled a bid of £5m for Jebbison, but it was instantly rejected.

With Rhian Brewster expected to kick on at United, Jebbison could be sold by the Championship side, but amid interest for the youngster they're holding out for a higher fee.
