Arsene Wenger feels sorry for Man Utd after another Man City humiliation
Arsene Wenger said he 'felt sorry' for Manchester United after their humiliating 3-0 home defeat at the hands of Manchester City.
Erik ten Hag's side put in a dreadful performance as they played off the park by their rivals who subjected them to a fifth Premier League defeat this season. Man United sit a lowly eighth in the table with 15 points as they're already eight points adrift of the top four with just 10 games played.
Following the defeat, where Erling Haaland scored a brace as Phil Foden scored the third, the former Arsenal boss was on beIN Sports and said that City's victory was earned and claimed that the "fighting spirit" within the Man United team was lost after the damaging defeat.

"Well deserved, I would say," the Frenchman said. "The gulf between the two teams became bigger and bigger as the game went on. In the end, for such a big club, you felt sorry for Man United because there is no hope there for the team. I don't see where they can improve, basically."
The three-time Premier League winner added: "This team has lost confidence, quality, and even spirit today. I would say it was not a great fighting spirit from Man United on top of that." Among the poor performances for the home side was Marcus Rashford who once again failed to find the back of the net.

The England international has struggled heavily in front of goal this season with just one goal in 10 league games and is goalless in his last nine games in all competitions. His poor goal-scoring form is a far-cry from last season where he netted 17 goals in the Premier League and 30 in all competitions.
Following the game, former United captain Gary Neville said that: "Rashford has been nowhere near his best" and with the forward turning 26 years old on Tuesday (October 31), he's meant to be entering his best years as a footballer but has seemed to take a dip in confidence as his individual struggles are also being felt by the team who've failed to score in three separate games this season.
