Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus has been full of praise for Palmeiras prospect Endrick, who is attracting interest from several top Premier League sides. Manchester United and Chelsea have been referenced as interested in the forward.
Edrick is one of the top rising talents in South America, and at just 16 years old, many are anticipating him becoming one of the top players in world football if he can continue his development. The forward is yet to make his Palmeiras senior debut, though it feels only a matter of time given that he is a named substitute regularly.
Jesus has spent time training with Endrick at Palmeiras, where he came through the ranks, and has high hopes for the Brazilian. He told ESPN: “I’ve been following Endrick a lot. During the time I was training at the Academy when I was coming back from injury, Ze Roberto introduced us.
“Then I saw him on the field… Wow, he’s a star! Phenomenon! He’s 16 now, right?”
It has been reported previously that the teenage sensation has a £53million release clause in his contract in Brazil, which will prove quite the investment for any top side given that he is years away from making the move to Europe. United are said to have held an interest in Endrick previously, with The Athletic reporting that he is also high on their transfer targets shortlist.
The Blues have been keen to invest in youth recently, and the arrival of Graham Potter will only push the club further into bringing players through the ranks given the trust he put in young players at Brighton and Swansea previously. Though Endrick’s agent, Frederico Pena, has attempted to shut down speculation that his client is leaving Palmeiras in the near future.

Speaking recently, Pena told ESPN: “The international break is always the same, there’s no news and this ‘froth’ starts. But none of them have made any proposal to us or Palmeiras to buy him. He has to play for Palmeiras until he turns 18. Consequently, he’ll play at Palmeiras for at least 22 more months.
“Endrick’s contract with Palmeiras runs until July 2025… He can only move abroad from Brazil from July 2024. No player under the age of 18 can move abroad. He can be sold, but he cannot be transferred. In other words, a club comes here, they do a deal with Palmeiras. But he can’t leave. He has to stay at Palmeiras even though he’s already been sold.” It remains to be seen whether Jesus attempts to call for Arsenal to enter the race for the forward.
