Arsenal are reportedly eyeing a move for Manchester City star Raheem Sterling in a bid to boost their struggling attack. Sterling was arguably England’s best player at Euro 2020, but has endured a challenging time at the Etihad Stadium in recent weeks. Express Sport takes a look at how the Gunners could line up with the winger and two other signings.

Goalkeeper: Aaron Ramsdale

Signed from Sheffield United in the summer transfer window, Aaron Ramsdale has quickly replaced Bernd Leno as Mikel Arteta’s first choice goalkeeper.

He has started the Gunners’ last four games in succession, keeping four clean sheets and conceding just one goal to ensure they have gone unbeaten.

The Englishman is clearly living up to his £30million price tag and it is hard to see any one taking the number one shirt off him for a long time to come.

Defence: Takehiro Tomiyasu, Ben White, Gabriel, Kieran Tierney

Transfer deadline day addition Takehiro Tomiyasu has provided the stability and defensive solidity at right-back that Arsenal have craved for so long.

Though he endured a tough game against Brighton, Tomiyasu has made a solid start to his Gunners career and it is hard to see him being replaced by another signing.

The Gunners star signing of the summer window was Ben White, who joined in a £50m move from Brighton.

The Englishman is starting to find his feet under Arteta and is impressing at the heart of the Gunners’ defence.

Alongside White in the Gunners’ recent unbeaten run has been Gabriel, with the duo set to be the long-term partnership going forward.

If he can stay fit, Kieran Tierney is also a certain starter for Arteta, having starred from left-back in recent seasons and earning a reputation as a future captain.

Midfield: Yves Bissouma, Thomas Partey

The first of three new faces in midfield and attack would be Yves Bissouma, who is likely to be the subject of a transfer battle next summer.

Bissouma is one of the Premier League’s most promising midfielders, with Arsenal one of his long-term suitors.

The Ivorian would be signed to partner Thomas Partey in central midfield, with the former Atletico Madrid man having impressed in his second season with Arsenal.

Attack: Raheem Sterling, Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka

The second potential signing would be Sterling himself, with the Sunday Star reporting the Gunners are set to make a move for the winger.

Though he has struggled for form for City in recent campaigns, his talents are obvious and he would certainly start under Arteta.

Martin Odegaard has also continued to impress since making his loan move from Real Madrid a permanent one.

The addition of Sterling will see Emile Smith Rowe drop out of the line-up, with Bukayo Saka one of the Gunners’ brightest stars.

Striker: Alexander Isak

The third and final signing will almost certainly be a striker, with Alexandre Lacazette set to depart at the end of the campaign and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang struggling for goals.

Alexander Isak is thought to be one of the Gunners’ top targets, having scored 17 goals for Real Sociedad in La Liga last season.
