Arsenal trying to ‘hijack’ Onana deal, Correa bid rejected, Jokanovic deals blow
The countdown is on until the start of the new Premier League season, and Arsenal might still welcome one or two more additions before their opener against Brentford.
Mikel Arteta has been relatively busy in the transfer market, bringing in Albert Sambi Lokonga from Anderlecht, Nuno Tavares from Benfica and Ben White from Brighton.
But the spending doesn't look like stopping there with the Gunners linked to more high-profile signings as they prepare for their first season outside of Europe since 1996.
Daily Star Sport are on hand with updates on four more Arsenal transfer targets, starting with the club's pursuit of a new goalkeeper.
Onana deal
Arsenal are reportedly keen to strike a deal with Ajax for highly-rated shot stopper Andre Onana.
The Gunners were keen on the 25-year-old Cameroon international earlier in the transfer window, but after being overtaken by Lyon in negotiations, turned their attention to Aaron Ramsdale.
However, Dutch outlet De Telegraaf claim that Onana pulled out of a switch to the French side as he wants to move to a 'bigger club', putting Arsenal back in the picture once again.
Correa bid rejected
Do Arsenal still need to bring in new faces before the start of the season? Let us know in the comments section
Earlier in the summer, Arsenal were linked with a move for Lazio centre-forward Joaquin Correa.
Corriere dello Sport (via Sport Witness) have now revealed that the Gunners had a bid of €20million turned down by the Serie A club.
The figure was reportedly 'considered inadequate' and Correa remained at Lazio.
He is now attracting interest from Everton and Leicester with a move to the Emirates seemingly dead in the water.
Jokanovic deals blow
Arsenal are reportedly plotting a £50million raid on Sheffield United for goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale and midfielder Sander Berge.
Both players have been heavily linked with a move to north London this summer, but Blades boss Slavisa Jokanovic doesn't seem to think the pair are going anywhere.
Speaking ahead of his first game in charge of the club on Saturday, he said: "I will be really surprised if they don't start against Birmingham.
"There is still 22 days to go in the window and I hope they stay with us. They are important players in my squad. I am thinking about them as part of my squad and that's it."
