Arsenal target Dusan Vlahovic has been ordered by Fiorentina to pick up the phone and discuss his future. One of the club’s chiefs has claimed the striker is being difficult and refusing to answer calls, with Fiorentina still in the dark over his transfer plans.
The 21-year-old has attracted interest from a number of clubs in Europe and has reportedly turned down multiple offers to extend his stay at Fiorentina.
Arsenal have been heavily linked with the player for months and are said to be working on a £58million deal to bring him to the Emirates this month.
However, Vlahovic appears to be more attracted by the prospect of joining Juventus, who are also interested in the forward.
The Serbian international has enjoyed a prolific season in Italy this term and has scored 20 goals from 24 games in all competitions.
That kind of form has only enhanced his reputation as one of the world’s hottest strikers right now.

Vlahovic only has 18 months remaining on his contract and seems hellbent on leaving, having rejected several lucrative offers, including one that would’ve reportedly made him the highest-paid Fiorentina player in the club’s history.
Despite Juventus being Vlahovic’s preferred destination, Arsenal are said to be the frontrunners for the striker given their financial muscle and capabilities to meet Fiorentina’s demands now.
The Gunners reportedly have already made a huge offer to Fiorentina for the striker’s services but club chief Joe Barone has denied those claims, insisting no bids have been made yet.
Barone also claimed Fiorentina are prepared to continue negotiations with Vlahovic over a new contract and is seeking clarity from his agent.

Speaking to DAZN, he said: “We’ve not received any official bid for Vlahovic as things stand.
“We’re open to discuss and negotiate – but we want Vlahovic and his agent to be clear on the future, as they’re not answering. We need to talk about it.”
Arsenal are desperately searching for a new striker, with Alexandre Lacazette, Eddie Nketiah and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang all set to depart the club over the next six months.
Vlahovic is their No 1 target but Mikel Arteta also has other options on his shortlist with talkSPORT reporting this week that Arsenal’s hopes of signing the Fiorentina star are ‘fading’.
Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins and Real Sociedad’s Alexander Isak are understood to be Arsenal’s other top targets.
It remains to be seen whether or not Arsenal will push to sign a striker this month or wait until the summer to carry out their plans.
However, Arteta is acutely aware that the Gunners risk a transfer scrap if they wait until the summer to try and sign Vlahovic, with a number of other top European clubs considering swoops for him should they miss out on Erling Haaland.
