Arsenal are set to make Inter Milan a ‘firm offer’ for right back Achraf Hakimi, according to reports.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is keen to sign a new right-sided defender amid reports that Hector Bellerin’s future at the club is up in the air.

And according to Spanish news outlet AS, via The Sun, Arsenal are ready to make a move for the Morocco international.

The report suggests that the Serie A leaders have slapped a £43million (€50m) price tag on the 22-year-old, who joined from Real Madrid in a deal worth £34m last summer.

Hakimi has established himself as integral part of Antonio Conte’s side, contributing six goals and six assists in 36 appearances this season.

However, there is financial uncertainty surrounding Inter and Hakimi could be offloaded to bring money into the club.

The report goes on to suggest that the San Siro giants need to sell players in order to raise funds but are reluctant to part with star man Romelu Lukaku. This could see Arsenal take advantage of the opportunity should Bellerin leave.

Arsenal’s London rivals Chelsea are also interested in the Morocco international.

Bellerin has been linked with a move away from the Emirates with Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona mentioned as possible landing spots while the Blues reportedly consider Hakimi as a right midfield option.

It was revealed last month that Inter’s owners Suning Group had halted operations at its Chinese football clubs, including the recently-crowned champions Jiangsu FC, due to financial jeopardy – a move which plunged the future of the Serie A giants into uncertainty.
