Ex-Arsenal star Mesut Ozil aimed a cheeky dig at Tottenham after they fell short to Manchester City in Sunday’s Carabao Cup final.
Aymeric Laporte scored the only goal of the game in the final 10 minutes at Wembley as his late header secured the Sky Blues a fourth consecutive title in the EFL Cup.
The Spurs players were clearly devastated after the match, with Son Heung-min reduced to tears at the final whistle.
However, former Arsenal playmaker Ozil added to their miseries with a savage tweet that truly showed off his colours.
In a sure-fire way to rile up Tottenham fans, the German took a dig at their trophy cabinet.
“It remains dusty…” he wrote.
It did the trick too, with several angry Spurs supporters biting by replying with the same joke about Ozil’s playing days.
"Your career is dusty," one responded.
"You are finished," said another.
While another posted: "Just like your career."
Ryan Mason admitted his pain after the game, but urged his players to pick themselves up again with a place in the top four still to play for.
Mason admitted the loss was hard to take and he said: "It hurts, I know that feeling.
"It is normal they are hurting because it shows they care. They gave everything, absolutely 100 per cent.
