Arsenal fans rave about new William Saliba chant – but rivals ‘mute the TV’

Arsenal fans couldn't get enough of their new chant for defender William Saliba – but it had rival fans "muting their TV".

The travelling Gunners support debuted the song at the Vitality Stadium during their match against Bournemouth, which was being televised live on Sky Sports. They used the tune of The Champs' hit Tequila, which was replaced with Saliba.

It hugely divided opinion online, with one Arsenal fan writing: "Absolutely obsessed with this new chant." Another tweeted: "This William Saliba chant is already a modern classic."

"The Saliba chant to Tequila is brilliant," commented a third, while a fourth said: "What a chant. Non-stop for 5 minutes on TV."

One boldly declared: "The Saliba version of ‘Tequila’ is by far the best football chant in the league and I won’t be told otherwise."

But those outside of the Gunners fanbase weren't so keen. One posted: "Arsenal games on mute from now on, I don't want to be listening to the Saliba chant ever again."

A second wrote: "Had to mute TV this f***ing arsenal chant is annoying." And another echoed: "I like arsenal but this new Saliba chant is so f***ing annoying lol."

One tweeted: "That Saliba chant is really awful, huh?" Another pleaded: "Arsenal fans stop this Saliba chant, its been going on for too long and its soooooo s***."

Unfortunately for them, Saliba kicked the chant off again by scoring a fabulous third for Arsenal as they cruised to a 3-0 win on their travels.
