Arsenal fans are fearing the worst after Mikel Arteta named Sead Kolasinac in his starting line-up against Manchester City.
The Gunners, who are 19th in the Premier League after back-to-back defeats against Brentford and Chelsea, could go below the division's bottom club Norwich City with a heavy defeat at the Etihad.
A five-goal reverse would see the north Londoners replace the Canaries at the bottom of the table.
Arteta's team has not given fans much cause for optimism.
Arsenal are still without the likes of Ben White and Gabriel, while Nicolas Pepe is unwell and will also miss the match.
The loss of White and Gabriel has left Arteta with little choice but to name a makeshift back-four – including Kolasinac at centre-half.
That decision has left Arsenal fans perplexed ahead of what threatens to be a difficult afternoon at the Etihad.
One fan tweeted: "The fact Kolasinac, Holding, Chambers and Cedric still are starting games sums it up. F***ing disgrace."
Another said: "We have a back 3 of kolasinac holding chambers and some people still think we should compete for top4."
A third fan added: "Why is Kolasinac anywhere near our squad never mind starting vs City."

Someone else commented: "If you’re of the view that you’ve got no hope left, just remember that Sead Kolasinac is about to play centre half for Arsenal at Manchester City…"
While a fifth supporter joked: "Big of the club to give Kolasinac a testimonial match after he terminated his own contract."
Kolasinac signed for Arsenal from Schalke in 2017 and was initially heralded as a smart piece of business as Arsene Wenger looked to reshape his squad.
He made 94 Premier League appearances in his first three seasons at the Emirates but fell out of favour under Arteta last season and was packed off on loan to Schalke, where he played 18 games as the club were relegated from the Bundesliga.
The 28-year-old returned to the Arsenal side for Wednesday's 6-0 win over West Brom and has been handed another opportunity against City as the Gunners are still without several key first-team players.
