Arsenal target Rasmus Hojlund has been likened to Manchester City superstar Erling Haaland. The young forward has earned big praise after scoring a hat-trick in Denmark’s win over Finland on Thursday.
Hojlund scored all of Denmark’s goals as they got their Euro 2024 qualification off to the perfect start with a 3-1 win in Copenhagen. The 20-year-old opened the scoring in the 21st minute and added two more in the final 10 minutes of the game to secure the victory.
Arsenal are linked with a move for the Atalanta star. Italian outlet TuttoAtalanta claims both the Gunners and Newcastle are interested and are willing to pay up to £45million for his signature.
Hojlund has seven Serie A goals this season having started just 14 matches. Finland striker Teemu Pukki was on the wrong end of the hat trick on Thursday and can see the comparisons with Haaland.

Record-breaker Erling Haaland – Manchester City’s goal machine
Pukki said: “I thought it was an absolutely world-class performance from Rasmus. I hadn’t seen him play before, just heard he was having a really good season in Italy.
“And he looked a great player with a very big future in front of him – it is hard to say anything else. You can see why there are early comparisons to Erling Haaland.
“He is a strong, aggressive and fast striker – a real handful. For sure he has the qualities and attributes to be a star in the Premier League.
“Look, the Italian Serie A is a very competitive league and he is already doing well there. He is still young and has the potential to be a very good striker. He has to keep his feet on the ground, but he looks a good character as well.”

Hojlund has won just three caps for Denmark, making his debut last September in the Nations League. Brentford star and international team-mate Christian Norgaard believes the forward would be a huge hit if Arsenal, or any other team, signed him in England.
Norgaard said: “You score a lot of goals in Serie A and very quickly you are seen as the next very big thing, and it is important to give in time. He doesn’t always start even in Atalanta.
“But absolutely he has the skills and qualities to be a big star in the Premier League – and I would say it is just a matter of time, and when and not if. Also these are his decisions.
“Where does he think that his playing style suits best? He has shown he can do it in Italy, but I see him in the Premier League with his pace, technique, strength, being a fox in the box – everything.”
