Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta ‘scared’ of Liverpool transfer target
Liverpool are reportedly targeting a winger that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has fears over.
The Gunners take on Leeds on Sunday who come in on the back of a solid 2-0 win over Crystal Palace.
Marcelo Bielsa's side have entertained Premier League fans this season with their free-flowing and free-scoring football. But it's one player in particular who's getting Arteta hot under the collar.
According to Football Insider, a member of Arsenal's coaching staff has revealed Arteta is 'afraid' of Raphinha.
The Gunners boss is wary of what Raphinha's pace can do against his side – especially with Thomas Partey and Kieran Tierney sidelined.
And the same winger that's giving Arteta sleepless nights has also emerged as a target for Liverpool.
Raphinha's fine form of four goals and four assists in 17 Premier League assists this season has reportedly caught the eye of Jurgen Klopp.
Spanish news outlet SPORT recently reported that Leeds are resigned to losing the 24-year-old with Liverpool very keen.
Good words have already been said about the Brazilian by both Bruno Fernandes and Jamie Carragher.
The Manchester United man played alongside Raphinha at Sporting Lisbon and revelled in their playing chemistry.
"Raphinha, I miss Raphinha," Fernandes told Top Mercato. "He’s a player with whom I had a different chemistry from the others. He understood me at a glance.
“He knew, according to the movement of my body, where I was going to put the ball to him. I also miss him because he brought joy to the locker room. He’s also a responsible and hardworking person.”
Carragher was on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football and discussed the impact of the winger.

“I think we mentioned before the game that he’s been involved in seven goals in the last eight games, so he’s always a huge threat and that’s always telling when your team-mates know from one training session," said the former Liverpool defender.
“I’ll never forget one player – as soon as Xabi Alonso came to Liverpool – it’s like you could tell in the session, the way he passed, the pace of the pass, the noise of it, as a dressing room you sort of step back and say that we’ve got one here and it sounds like that was what the Leeds dressing room did (with Raphinha).”
