Arsenal are among several clubs in talks over a deal for Mykhaylo Mudryk but Shakhtar Donetsk insist their president will decide the winger’s future – once they receive any formal offers.

The Premier League leaders are in the market for a new wide player in January as they look to sustain their unlikely title push.

Shakhtar are believed to value Ukraine international Mudryk, 21, at £85million, with the club considering him among the world’s finest talents in his position.

His performances in the Champions League this season turned heads and Mudryk has publicly teased a possible move to Arsenal, admitting he ‘can’t say no’ to the north London club and that the Premier League is ‘every player’s dream’.

But Shakhtar have held discussions with many clubs and a source close to the deal told Sportsmail that no firm offers have yet come in for Mudryk.

They insist president Rinat Akhmetov will have the final say on any possible transfer.

The club’s CEO Sergei Palkin is said to have been in London this week for talks and it has been suggested that Shakhtar could soften their £85million demands, despite their public insistence, repeated to Sportsmail, that ‘if someone wants Mudryk, they will need lots of money.’

Arsenal were keen to sign another winger in the summer and explored a deal for Wolves’ Pedro Neto.

But the need for more attacking reinforcements has been heightened with Gabriel Jesus facing up to three months out after knee surgery.

Shakhtar don’t want to lose Mudryk and insist any offer must respect the player, the club and their president.

Several other English clubs have been linked with the 21-year-old, including Manchester City and Newcastle, while Brentford were keen to sign him last summer.
